Art with a Purpose

Well, I’m not sure what to call this original artwork – and I use that term really loosely!

I built this out of a stack of lats that I have. It needed to be tall and narrow to fit in the space and still cover the holes that it needed to.

My first thought was to use small s-hooks between the lats to hang nice utensils, but it is too shallow to fit a large enough s-hook to hold my spatulas, etc.

I haven’t decided if I should make my own hooks out of a heavier wire that would work for this.

For now, it is sporting this really simple wheat design which goes with the whole nature theme of my house.

This hides the screw holes and a larger hole that the lights were threaded through when I had upper cabinets here. So it is doing it’s job, but I’m not particularly happy with it – yet!
